Privacy Policy
We built Baskworthy to be private by design. Here's exactly what that means.
Last updated: April 15, 2026
The short version
Baskworthy does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Everything you do in the app - your notes, mood logs, session history, streaks, and achievements - is stored exclusively on your device and never leaves it.
Who we are
Baskworthy is operated as an independent app. If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at hello@baskworthy.com.
Data we collect
We collect no personal data. Specifically:
- We do not ask for or store your name, email address, or any account information - no account is required to use the app.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or any third-party tracking libraries inside the app.
- We do not serve advertisements.
- We do not sync your data to any server or cloud service.
Data stored on your device
The following information is stored locally on your device using Android's standard secure local storage (AsyncStorage):
- Session history - which sessions you have completed and when.
- Mood logs - the mood you record in the daily check-in.
- Journal notes - text notes you write in the calendar/journal screen.
- Streak and achievement data - your daily practice streak and unlocked badges.
- App preferences - any settings you configure (e.g. notification times).
All of this data is local only. It is never transmitted to us or any third party. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted from your device.
Weather information
To suggest a contextually relevant session, the app may make two outbound network requests at launch:
- A request to ipapi.co to determine your approximate city-level location from your IP address.
- A request to open-meteo.com to fetch the current weather conditions for that location.
These requests are made directly from your device to these public APIs. Baskworthy does not receive, log, or store your IP address or location. No identifying data from these requests passes through our systems. Both APIs have their own privacy policies which you can review at ipapi.co/privacy and open-meteo.com/terms.
The weather feature is entirely optional - if the request fails or you are offline, the app falls back to a time-of-day suggestion with no loss of functionality.
Audio files
Guided session audio is streamed on demand from Cloudflare R2 (a content delivery service). Your device makes a standard HTTPS request to download the audio file. Cloudflare may log standard server-side access logs (IP address, timestamp, file requested) as part of normal CDN operation. Baskworthy does not receive or retain these logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Notifications
If you enable optional reminders in the calendar screen, Baskworthy uses the Android local notification system (Expo Notifications) to schedule reminders. These notifications are scheduled and fired entirely on your device - no notification servers are involved.
Purchase
Baskworthy is a paid app purchased through the Google Play Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google. We do not receive or store your payment information. For questions about billing, please contact Google Play support.
Children's privacy
Baskworthy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because we collect no personal data from any user, no special measures beyond our standard privacy practices are required.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
